Made from between 95% and 98.5% recycled content, other tile companies mine their raw materials and often recycle their own breakages, Mas uses by-products aggregated from multiple industries, and from various parts of the production process - both pre and post-fired. Spray drying is also avoided, instead using a unique low energy dry granulation process. By only adding a small amount of water to recovered raw materials that have already been processed by other industries, it results in a reduction of natural gas and electricity by approximately 45% compared with the average Spanish tile producer.
